This is our review of the tennis courts at Brockwell Park, Herne Hill, SE24

💸Price - 7.9/10 - £7.70 is seemingly your standard when you travel to this part of SE. Good value for money, in pretty decent nick, and it’s really only a set of floodlights that are missing.

🚗Accessibility 6.6/10 - Whilst Brockwell Park itself seems like a staple of SE London culture, there’s no denying it’s a little tougher to get to for those outside of the Herne Hill <> Tulse Hill <> Brixton triangle. Let’s be honest though, we have travelled much, much further for a hit in previous reviews.

🌴Surroundings 7.5/10 - On an evening like this, the surroundings are tough to beat, and 7.5 may be slightly on the harsh side. The fact you are right on top of the hill gives some cracking views of London, and sound travels freely so you get a front row ticket to the Caribbean beats blaring out from the strip of restaurants below. Vibes.

🎾Surface 7.7/10 - Green tarmac once again. Nout wrong with it, but nothing to write home about. We’ve played on far worse surfaces though, so no complaints here. The green nets are a nice matching addition.

🤙🏻Vibes 9.2/10 - Straight vibes up here. Golden sun, summer breeze, and the distant buzz of the streets below pleasantly audible. Summer evening tennis for the ages. Bloody gorgeous.

🍻Post-game pint 11/10 - After walking in a circle for a good 15 mins, Julia finally located the “pub with the good beer garden.” I can confirm it is a pub with a good beer garden. It’s very big and nice. You should try it for yourself - @thehalfmoonpub
